商务英语学习: 发布会演讲

      每个公司在将要推出什么新产品时，往往都会通过举行发布会的形式， 这都已经形成了一种惯例。例如每年苹果的新产品的发布会，都成了整个世界的一个热点，可以这么说，你公司的知名度越高，那么你的发布会也会更加地令人向往。今天我们也来学习一下在商务英语中的发布会都包含了哪些内容。

A: Management wants you to make the public announcement tomorrow afternoon. 

    管理层想要你明天下午做发布会.

B: Me? But I'm the worst speechmaker ever!

   我吗?但是我是最差的演讲者啊! 

A: Come on! Don't be modest, you've done this a thousand times before! 

   没关系的!不要谦虚啦.之前你已经做过1000次了! 

B: That doesn't mean I have to like it. Has the necessary statement already been prepared? 

    那并不意味着我必须喜欢它.必要的陈述已经准备好了吗? 

A: Yes, I will bring it to you as soon as I print off a copy.

    准备好了.一印出副本.我就给你拿过来. 

B: What media will be there? 

    有些什么媒介到场? 

A: Only 3 television crews and 5 newspaper reporters. 

   只有3家电视台和5名报纸记者. 

B: Only! I hope I don't get stage fright! 

    只有!希望我不会怯场!

A: You'll be fine. The time has been set for 4pm tomorrow afternoon in the reception.

    你不会怯场的.时间已经定在接待过程中的明天下午四点. 

B: Ok, I'll have to go over the material as well as do a few rehearsals. 

    好的.我必须过目这些材料.然后排练一下. 

重点释疑：

'stage fright' 就是我们中文里所说的"怯场,晕场"的意思.

set: arrange, fix, decide on 安排,确定,决定

其他确定日期/时间的表达:

They haven't set a date for their wedding yet. 他们还没有确定婚期.

Has the date of the next meeting been fixed? 下次会议的日期确定了没有?

She says she'll come, but I can't nail her down to a specific time. 她说要来,但我无法让她敲定具体什么时候来.

Go over: to study something carefully, especially by repeating it 反复研究;仔细琢磨 

He went over the events of the day in his mind(= thought about them carefully). 他心里反复琢磨白天发生的事.
