我们用中文表达自己意见的时候往往滔滔不绝

转换成英文时

脑中却只剩了三个选项

"I agree."、"I disagree."以及"I don't know."

有时候自己明明想说的是“这件事情其实有好有坏”

到底“我持中立态度”如何表达？

"I'm on the fence." 或是"I sit on the fence"。

“fence”是篱笆，想象你做在篱笆上，无法拿定主意要往左还是往右的样子。

Do you agree with nuclear energy？

你支持核能么？

I'm on the fence.

我保持中立。

I don't want to offend either of them.

我双方都不想冒犯。

Between George and David, which one do you think is more qualified for the position?

你觉得George和David谁比较胜任这个职位？

I don't want to offend either of them.也是一种表达，两边不得罪。

There are both advantages and disadvantages.

各有利弊。

或者简单一点，可以说，"double-edged sword"，就是中文中的“双面刃”。

The tourism industry is a double-edged sword.It creates jobs for local people, but it can also put pressure on local resources.

旅游业为当地人创造更多就业机会，但也对当地资源造成压力，利弊各半。
